The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) will end in April 2024.
For anyone for anyone receiving this benefit:
All participants will be able to continue with their selected fiber broadband package from NH Broadband. However, since there will no longer be an ACP discount, anyone interested in changing or terminating their service plan should contact NH Broadband's customer service at 866-431-1928 to discuss their options.
Please note that this does not affect the FCC’s Lifeline Program. For anyone not currently receiving Lifeline benefits, you may be eligible for a monthly discount of up to $9.25 off the cost of phone, internet or bundled services or up to $34.25 off the cost of phone, internet or bundled services if living on qualifying Tribal Lands. To learn more, visit LifelineSupport.org.
As always, we are committed to ensuring you have all the information regarding the termination of the ACP. Should you have any questions, please visit AffordableConnectivity.gov to learn more.
The ACP launched in 2021 and was funded by the US government with $14.2 billion to offset the cost of high-speed internet for those qualifying participants. The program has been very successful in expanding nationwide access to fiber broadband. As a result of this overwhelming success, the funding is running out and will be depleted in April 2024.
No. The ACP is a federally funded program. Due to its success and the number of participants, the allotted funding is projected to be depleted.
The ACP is forecasted to end in April 2024.
NH Broadband was created to deliver the best in internet access to those communities and consumers in need. Should the ACP program be terminated, we will advise you with next steps and options for your broadband service and billing, as you will be subject to our regular rates, terms and conditions.
If you currently receive a Lifeline discount for your phone or internet service, that discount will not be terminated.
